A unique, one-off theatrical experience—rehearsed readings from Spoon River Anthology interwoven with live music. Sweetly melancholy, darkly funny, lighthearted yet mysterious, reflective yet raw.
Banned for years in Menard and Fulton counties, Spoon River Anthology was groundbreaking upon its release. Written by Edgar Lee Masters, this poetic masterpiece gives voice to those resting beneath the soil of Spoon River Cemetery—nostalgia mixed with unfiltered emotion, secrets laid bare, lives and longings revealed.
Praised by literary greats like Ezra Pound and T. S. Eliot, Spoon River Anthology remains as haunting and beautiful as ever. Now, brought to life at Dubbo’s Black Box Theatre.

Settle the Score was written by Indistinct Chatter member, Michael Davis, who wanted to write a powerful ballad that resonated with women.
“I wasn’t really sure where the song was going or how good it could be until the first time I heard Andrea sing it. I knew I wanted her to be the one to record it. In my view she transforms the song into a potent message that’s difficult to ignore. Is it a happy ending or is it a tragedy? I’ll leave that for the listener to decide.”
The first of our Small Space Gigs, recorded live at Studio 138, Dubbo. “Ain’t Done Yet”, performed by Tarry Tree and Friends.
“Ain’t Done Yet” is an original song by Dubbo muscian and SOMAD member, Michael Davis. Mick is also co-owner of Studio 138.
Of the song, Mick says: “This song was born out of a little cord progression that recently came into my head. A melody line followed, and then some lyrics that I thought my beautiful niece Liz would be happy to sing. This is our pilot Small Space Gig and I want to thank all of those who contributed to this concept.”
